Tenergy 80 vs Dignics 05

T80 is both clearly slower than T64 and has noticeably less spin than T05.

Also, T80 is remarkably deadish in passive play (not quite in the Chinese tacky arena, but still, deadish) yet very explosive when activating it — with a lower throw, lower dwell, flatter trajectory than T05. Producing spin is very, very different. I can serve spinny with T80, but a slow spinny loop, well, let me grab my spare setup first, please.

I tried to like T80. I really did. But I couldn't manage, although I like T05 just fine. Some rubbers feel "right" to me, others feel "wrong", and T80 feels wrong to me. As does T05FX by the way, staying within the Tenergy family. A twist in the pimple geometry with the same sponge and topsheet; a twist in the sponge, small tweaks make substantial differences. T05 feels right, as does the also spring-sponged Rozena.

These are personal matters, of course, and many play just fine with T80 and love it. I don't think it's anything like D05 at all, tough.
