What Rid just said. Also, T80 is remarkably deadish in passive play (not quite in the Chinese tacky arena, but still, deadish) yet very explosive when activating it — with a lower throw, lower dwell, flatter trajectory than T05. Producing spin is very, very different. I can serve spinny with T80, but a slow spinny loop, well, let me grab my spare setup first, please.

I tried to like T80. I really did. But I couldn't manage, although I like T05 just fine. Some rubbers feel "right" to me, others feel "wrong", and T80 feels wrong to me. As does T05FX by the way, staying within the Tenergy family. A twist in the pimple geometry with the same sponge and topsheet; a twist in the sponge, small tweaks make substantial differences. T05 feels right, as does the also spring-sponged Rozena.

These are personal matters, of course, and many play just fine with T80 and love it. I don't think it's anything like D05 at all, tough.
