Actually, what did Ito lose?100 or 200 extra points?
Ahead of Bulgaria, the Czech Republic ..... That's where it will be necessary to work seriously ....
All very true. I think people are somewhat upset about kato & ishikawa got in because of CNT’s pull out, even though they didn’t qualify and shouldn’t be there. It’s the 400 pts they get at least by getting in, not the 100 pts more per round.
Hope ZYL & Hirano wins tomorrow.

Could be, but don't you think CNT wants to be sure of JNT roster so they can scout and prepare their strategy/tactics?

I'm not sure what is worse,
JNT roster unsettling or CNT roster unsettling.

I think at the moment JNT has a better idea than CNT
and i'm sure both teams are preparing for everyone - including the back ups.
In fact, its an old habit already. Every year CNT will update a target list.

In a way even KNT is not firm.
other than that, most of your other nations are kindof straight forward

They don't have to wait until the selections are out to do that. Both teams have already been collecting data and doing analysis for a long time as LGL puts it in an interview last December.

I suspected as much, just wanted your point of view :)

For sure, at least to my mind. Once the composition is assured, anyone can target and meticulously study them, from Jan2020 right up to the Games, which the CNT is fully geared to do so.
This JNT decision to decide the Olympic team by Jan2020 is far too soon, and flawed in so many ways. While it is commendable to be highly transparent, and to be objectively fair, allowing all to know who the participant will be, and the manner how they are determined, opens up possibilities that their selection can be gamed by their opponents, specially far superior opponent who is determined the Japanese flag will not go to the top.
CNT doesn’t have to announce anything until the deadline, allowing minimal time for opposite preparation. This, without even considering their manifested superiority, is already a potent advantage.

I find it odd that Ito was having trouble with Kato's tomahawk serves. She swatted DN's like flies when they played during their first few encounters.

You all talking about Olympic selections here are off topic.

Kato vs Ito finish was great at 5-4 in the 7th. Ito should have been a little more conservative with her return of serve.

Please stay on topic.

(Men’s team captain Ma Long said that the T2 league was not on his schedule. "the T2 champion has extra Olympic points, so it's not good for my ranking if I skip it. But now that I'm here, I'm most worried about my physical condition."

"The extra points for T2 are very high. The world ranking is very important before the Olympics. For the Olympics points, players have no choice but to grab them," said Liu Shiwen who is not able to attend due to injury.)

Harimoto in terrible shape, not sure what is going on with him. Looks like Wong Chun Ting is clearly winning against Harimoto.

Harimoto just keeps giving disappointing performances over and over again. Really don't know what happened to him lately.

The boy is growing. Gaining length and weight means having to make a lot of adjustments. I see that in our own talented players at that age.

And in any case, form is not a monotonic function anyway. Occasional slumps come with the territory.
