Liu Shiwen will likely play since she has lost so many points in the latest ranking. All eyes on Zhu Yuling? Her participation indicates that she is still in the running for Tokyo. If she is replaced (Chen Meng is next in line by virtue of placing second in Asian Cup), then that suggests that she is likely not in play anymore. Too bad the World Cup doesn't work like Asian Cup whereby the association can replace the nominated player with literally anyone, so I guess Ito has to try for the next Asian Cup or be World Champion to qualify automatically. Unfortunately, Solja and Samara may be Europe's only hopes (Szocs and Polcanova haven't been impressive for a while).
