      2019 Bulgaria Open (World Tour)

The Bulgaria Open begins tomorrow on the 13th August and concludes on Sunday the 18th. Tomokazu Harimoto and Kasumi Ishikawa are the top seeds of the men's and women's singles events respectively, but without the top CNT players present it's a very even field of great players, so very it's hard to predict who will come out on top in the end? :-)

      Let's get this topic started!

Two CNT players in Hayata's group again – Feng Yalan and Zhang Qiang but those two are not particularly outstanding so there's hope for her ~ Over at the main draw, Ishikawa same quarter as He Zhuojia, Ito with teammate killer Kato and a huge challenge (but also opportunity) for Chen Xingtong to take on Hirano and Hashimoto. Looks to be fun.

Why don't main CNT players participate in this one? I guess it gives good chances for a non top-10 player to make it through?

The core players have been invited to Los Angeles for a joint training with the US team. Many believe it's a gesture of goodwill after both parties assisted each other in winning the bids for the WTTC 2021 and 2022.

Cool but I doubt that's the reason since I don't see Liang Junkin or Wang Chuqin or others neither in LA nor in Bulgaria

Also a TOP player such as Xue Fei losing yet again. Seems like it's getting really hard for the Chinese to find a break-through player such as Harimoto or Lin Yun-Ju

      2019 Bulgaria Open (World Tour)

The CNT doesn’t suffer a dearth of high level young players. The very highest top does form a barrier to overcome, but that select company contains a few players well below peak physical age already. No sleepless nights for LGL yet.

It is reported that after the three consecutive three-station ITTF events and the national table tennis tournament, Guoping 2019's first half of the competition plan came to an end. In order to go all out to prepare for the Asian Championships, World Cup singles and team competitions in the second half of the year, Guoping will use the gap between the August games to break the traditional closed training mode and try to go to the United States to carry out the small plate training mode. All the main players participate. The first batch of players included Ma Long, Ding Ning, Xu Wei, Liu Shiwen, Fan Zhendong and others. Sun Yingsha and Wang Chuqin, who had just participated in the complete competition, will stay in Beijing for two days and then go to the United States to join the team.

For some reason, the scores are now reversed on ITTF. Apparently ZPF won.

Could not get a media accreditation for this tournament so no photos from me this time
But I can say that ZPF Won for sure
And also Kara and Drinkhall played great matches
Shibaev lost after a great lead ..
      J. Cantero is a very interesting player to watch with some brutal shots.
Also there were some unbelievable rallies on the non-tv tables so being there is just superb
This year the tickets got pricier - 4 Euros for each of the 1st two days of the competition, the next two - 5 Euros each, and the final days - 6 Euros each day
So if you are somewhere near Bulgaria - use this chance !

I noticed the same. I think its a clever idea, as most professionals serve short or half short anyway and she wants to get into the rally with an agressiv backhand shot. With the left leg in front she spares one step. If the opponent serves long into the forhand you have to adjust your legs anyway.
