8:6, 8:11 in G7. Nonetheless, a very good recovery and development for her.

Yeah, Hirano Variations from the 4th set on were too much for Chen Xingtong, Tongtong is a bit one dimensional too, Just trying to be consistent and reactionary and waiting for errors without actively looking for attacking chances can be punished severely, She must be very relieved to win this match, this same thing happened in the Japan Open 2018, up 3-0 9-6 in the fourth set against Ito, She let that escape and she couldn't contain Ito serve variations, tricks and 3rd ball attacks from then on.
On the other hand, This is good for Hirano's growth but this is not going to happen eveeytime, She could have been ousted by Liu Weishan early in the tournament, and against players that like to take the initiative and keep being aggressive this won't happen, You can't always wait for you to be down 3-0 before you decide to zero in on the match. It's almost always too late

Preliminary calculation of the ITTF rating for September .. (possibly inaccurate ...)

....
6 - SUN Yingsha 12915
7 - ITO Mima 12620

ISHIKAWA Kasumi 12443
CHENG I-Ching 12125
HIRANO Miu 12120 min , 12480 max

11 - DOO Hoi Kem 10680

Hi Vlad, can you recheck your computations?
Hirano currently has 12050 points. Subtract last year's Bulgaria and Czech Results of 1260 and 1260 (-2520) and add HK Open 2019 SF result of 1170 points and Czech 2019 Finalist result of 1440 points to replace those (+2610).

Hirano should have 12140 for the September rankings, which is enough to be ahead of Cheng I-Ching. Whether or not she can stay ahead of Cheng by the time the October World Cup occurs will depends on Hirano and Cheng I-Ching's performances in the Asian Champs and T2 China.

Hi !

О.К.
+2610-(-2520)=+90
12050+90=12140 !!!

You're right ! Thanks for the correction !
(I'm sorry, I was wrong ...):(

Hirano, congratulations!Great game in this tournament!

Wait, why do you have to subtract points first?
I thought you just add the points earnt on top of the original or is this the main difference with the new ranking system.
How does this affect Lin's ranking, will it be possible for him to enter top 10 this month?

It's a ranking based on a trailing twelve month window so you need to subtract the points won from August 2018 if they are part of the top 8 results.

For Lin Yun-Ju, his current ranking points is 10245. He had 990 points from August 2018 that drop off. He won this tournament so that's a gain of 1800 points for a net gain of 810 points: 10245 + 810 = 11055. That would put him currently at 11, but I think he leapfrogs Koki Niwa to reach WR#10. Koki Niwa had 1260 points in Aug 2018. His next largest reserve is 900 points so he has a net drop of 360 points: 11200 - 360 = 10840.

A case of a bad workman blaming his tools etc (and Calderano definitely a few levels above) - but, did I just hear shibaev saying 'these rubbers (and butterfly) are shit'? Czech open circa 40:20 ...:) maybe butterfly arent what they used to be - and the other brands have not just caught up - but certainly, for their pro version rubbers, are getting better?

I would like to share some matches that I have recorded, I will post them here, but my computer is slow so it will take a while..
First I got a nice training session by Gauzy and Calderano, unfortunatelly there were songs played during it so I had to change the sound a bit..

So before this match, I think it was all open!
I was very surprised that it didnt go at streamed table, and I knew this has to be recorded..
Freitas in superb form against young talent from Sweden..
Enjoy!

After the match I was talking to Truls, asking him how to pronounce his surname.. He said there are 2 versions, one is in english and thats a pretty easy one.. the other one is swedish and thats more of a challenge :D
Anyways - to his match, he said he played very bad.. he was not happy about it, but he said he didnt train much because of summer and holiday etc etc.. Hoping he would get better in time..
