UNMASK THE CGL RUBBERs

IMG_2256.JPG

Composite Glue Layer (CGL) is a secret technology, and it is now growing very popular with many and many table tennis manufactures worldwide. Since it is an illegal black art, being always prohibited by ITTF, none of manufacturers would dare to promulgate the secret for public's ears, to save one's life.

HOW DO I PROCEED.
You need some surgical skills to detach the outer tacky skin (finest skin of rubber material upto 0.1 millimeters thick) from the pimpled layer underneath.
http://mytabletennis.net/FORUM/uploads/14298/729_CG_Technology.jpg

HEREBY, WE"D ASK YOU FOR SOME GOOD SERVICE:
-- Collect up all the rubber cuttings from your waste-basket and give them some thorough V-section, one after one. Be careful if using surgical knife for making dissections onto the rubbers.
-- Report us all the rubbers you did found to use the composite topsheet CGL. Be sure to attach a photo of the CGL topsheet specimens .

Thank you a lot, in advance.

The most preffered rubbers to check for CGL.
■ DHS Hurricane 3 / DHS Hurricane 2
■ Yinhe BIG DIPPER
■ Sanwei TARGET
■ Friendship 729-08
■ Haifu WHALE 2 / 3

Be happy/

It still feels like a classical Hurricane 3 neo but the biggest difference is control and consistancy.

If you play commercial or provincial H3, some times you will have the feeling that in some stroke, you have fully confidence in your move and stroke, but the ball is just going out. sometimes this is due to the tiny inconsistansy in the sponge.

For the player named ones, it will feel more consistant so more control e.g. one or two more ball on the table each game.

Have you tried this rubber by yourself? So basically it's H3 provincial with enhanced control and grip?

Yes I've tried the DingNing ones as ML and FZD's FH rubbers are too hard for me.

It's consistancy, not grip.

Just try a provincial version and a normal national version. If you can feel the difference, the named ones are slightly better than national. If you can't feel the difference between provincial and national, then there is no need to try the named ones.

When playing commercial or provincial version, sometimes you make a perfect stroke and the time, positioning is alright, but the ball still flying out or under net. This is due to some tiny inconsistant in the sponge (make a little to hard or too soft at that hitting point). For national or named national, such consistancy is minimised.
