More tourneys give more chance for more players to compete and win and increase ranking points and later the money they can make from TT.

It is a good thing overall. No one is compelled to play every tourney, just enough of them to win enough to maintain what they want for level.

More chances to compete at highest level is good for the sport.

Even in California, like the LA area or Bay area, there is an amateur tourney every week literally. No one has to go to them all, but it is real nice to decide one weekend you want to do a tourney and happen to have one going on the weekend you decide you want it.

Choice is good for the market.

The number of events hasn't really changed that much. Even with the old world ranking, this would happen before every Olympics.

Check out XX's stats, Ito's, or Ishikawa's. Not all that different.
