      Lily Zhang vs. Gu Yuting live now on table 1. Game 1 Lily had several game points but lost 16-18. Game 2 Lily was up 6-1, lost 7-11.

      OK, Lily lost 0-4 but played well being able to mostly keep up with CNT speed and consistency. Good future for her, no need to retire just yet

      Good effort, but there will be no Cinderella story for Lily this tournament. GYT's shot quality was just too much for Lily. Lily can produce some amazing rallies, but GYT was in control of most of the points.

      From what i saw from Lily's recent matches is that her rally abilities, especially her BH are top-class but her serve/receive game is way below the top player's. She has to improve there if she wants to get to the next level

      harimoto / niwa double was a great feat! One cant play doubles and the other chasing idols instead of playing tabletennis the last couple of months

      Yea, Gao Jun mentions that as well in the latest interview with ITTF.

      Kihara is very talented young player. I think in 3-4 years she will be one of the top 3 japanese players.

      G7, 2:2, 4:2, 5:3, 7:3, 7:5, 11:5.

      It's been a while since the last time Hayata won in G7.

      G5, 10:5, 11:9.

      Yoshimura could become the 3rd player.

      I take bets where Hayata get drawn to in the bracket. For sure not in spot 1-8. My bet would be 10-14

      In a way, this has proven to be an invaluable year for Hayata. She's got to play so many CNT players, practically from the core members to the sparring partners.

      Also, Ojio caught my eyes roughly 2 years ago. She turned 14 roughly 3 months ago. Could become like Sato and Hashimoto and perhaps achieve more.

      CNT
      ----
      Zhang Rui
      Wang Yidi
      Gu Yuting
      Qian Tianyi

      PR4
      Liu Weishan 3-4 Hayata

      PR3
      Fan Siqi 1-4 Ando
      Liu Fei 2-4 Mittelham

      PR2
      Sun Mingyang 0-4 Nagasaki

      JNT
      ----
      Ando 4-0 Mikhailova
      Kihara 4-0 Kato
      Hayata 1-2 -> 3-2 -> 4-3 Liu Weishan

      PR4
      Nagasaki 3-0 -> 3-4 Chen Szu-Yu
      Hashimoto 0-4 Gu Yuting
      Shibata 0-4 Choi Hyojoo
      Idesawa 1-4 Mittelham

      PR2
      Chiaki Kato 1-4 Li Qian
      Ojio 3-0 -> 3-4 YMY
      Odo 1-4 Zeng Jian
      Mori 0-4 Shcherbatykh

      Poor Miyu Nagasaki. Beats a CNT player (Sun Mingyang), is up 3-0 on Chen Szu-Yu, but loses the next 4 games. ZYL breathing a sigh of relief.
