GNANASEKARAN beats GAUZY 3-4. The Frenchman not at his best, suffering in the receive game, and missing a lot of his signature BH today. The Indian played really well

Sathiyan just won Jonathan Groth too. He got number one in his group. Simon Gauzy got number two. Groth is eliminated.

Sorry to see Vladi exit in group stage losing both his group matches.

Habesohn played well, losing 3-4 to Dima and beating Vladi 4-3 to come 2nd in group and advance to main draw.

Testing VRS for Men's World Cup 2019

      7.14 Video review system
The CEO, Mr. Steve Dainton, stated that a tender process was run to identify a company for
implementing Table Tennis Review. The idea had been floated for many years but after some
issues at the WTTC and after discussion with Mr Maehara, it was agreed that it was important,
and the process was speeded-up. Several bids were received and after an evaluation process
one company was identified as the most suitable option for testing at the Men’s World Cup. If
the tests are positive, the plan would be to fully implement the system at the World Tour Grand
      Finals.
Mr. Dainton mentioned that the implementation is done using 10 cameras and it’s a combination
of visual animations and real images, depending on the type of challenge. Challenges will be for
a range of items like edge balls, nets, double strikes, service, toss etc.
The short-term intention is to only use TTR for players to be entitled to challenge an umpire’s
call/decision with a limit in the number of challenges (2 or 3 tbc, with the number of challenges
a player has being kept as far as he/she gets a positive review of the challenge).

Great match. Jha is amazingly skilled but lacks finishing power. He has to work so hard to win points at this level (but that makes for a lot of entertaining rallies). Better hit the weight room.
