I was thinking to try R50, but now R53 is available I don't know which of the 2 would be good.

It is difficult to say. I was very surprised that R53 didn´t feel as hard as you´d expect and from my memory it felt better than R50.

But then, no two rubbers are the same and if I´ve come across R50 harder than their nominal 50 and an R53 that feels like 51 degrees it might be a different experience for you, and normally a rubber shouldn´t feel three degress softer with the same topsheet.

If you get a chance, try them both.

Yogi is right, I hope manufacturers start labelling the top sheet hardness as well.

IMO the top sheet makes a much bigger difference in feel than the sponge.

Haven't tried any Rasanters but the DNA h with 50 sponge feels way harder than the Omega 7 Asia at 52.

discussed today with another coach

for a hard sponge tacky rubber, in replacement of SpinArt,

he recommended TIBHAR K1J Hybrid

or YASAKA 翔龍 (SHORYU) https://www.kokusaitakkyu.com/shopdetail/000000006622/ct1350/page1/order/
[for info, JIN Takuya is using this YASAKA rubber on both sides]

He said Dignics80 is much faster than SpinArt and there is a lot of risk of putting the ball off the table. But i told him that i'd go for 1.9mm instead of 2.1mm and said maybe its ok then.

IMO the top sheet makes a much bigger difference in feel than the sponge.

I´d say it´s the interplay between them that gives an overall feeling.

So yes, an additional rating for topsheet hardness, going from soft to hard+ or something could be helpful.
In exact degrees it just would make people even more crazy ;)
