Lefties players was Ryu main weakness. Seems like ITTF has been well analysis one each player stats too lol. The article about the semi final results did talk about this, and the outcome just as predicted, although I was wishing that Ryu can win this

Seems like J-Pen will have a huge weakness for opposite hand player, as they have less chance on FH to FH rally.

yes because left hand player hits crosscourt to backhand the angle is much more severe than a right hander who can only play down the line from forehand, so easier for a lefty for force them around i'm nowhere near surprised Ryu lost.

And it looks like neither of us won the bet. But at least my player lost to the eventual champion.

It seems that each style has an advantage over another style.
TT is really like fighting which needs constant adaptation to the opponent while forcing the opponent to adapt to your game
