FS: SDC Blades
I'm selling some of my personal blades, along with some experiments and prototypes. They are all in good condition, some might have minor dings but that is stated in the description.
#253 - All wood: Combi 6 ply
This is a prototype for a combi blade with different flex between sides. The concept didn't quite work out as I wanted, but it still has a good speed difference between sides due to the composition. On one of the photos it looks like the handle is detached on one side. It is, partially, that is part of the concept and it allows to control the flex of the blade by varying the grip pressure. That was the theory at least... Anyway, it still plays fine and the handle won't come off, don't worry.
Composition: Limba / Larch / Balsa / Ayous / Cork / Anigre
Weight: 74.1g
Thickness: 8.2mm
Handle: ST (23.5 x 103 x 28.9)
Head size: 157x149mm

#283 - Composite: 5+2 Asymmetric - Off-
This was the prototype for my "Dotec" handle, so it's not a final version. It's new and was never tested. The composition is outer asymmetric, but it has a really light core and a slightly bigger head size, so it plays more in the Off- range.
Composition: Koto / ALC / Ayous / Kiri / Ayous / IC / Framiré
Weight: 88.8g
Thickness: 5.85mm
Handle: "Dotec" (25.4 - 24.0 x 101 x 35)
Head size: 158x151mm
Freq.: 1356Hz
Balance: 2.4cm (Low)
Condition: New
Price: [s]65€[/s] 40€ plus shipping

#360 - Composite: 5 wood + 2 ALC - Off-
There is really not much to say about this one, it's a inner fiber blade, not particularly fast but not slow either. It has a nice feeling with just the right amount of vibration (for me at least). I've used it a couple of times before getting injured, but since I'm not playing it doesn't make sense to keep it. It has been refurbished so it's as good as new.
Composition: Limba / Ayous / ALC / Ayous / ALC / Ayous / Limba
Weight: 90.8g
Thickness: 6.05mm
Handle: ST (23 x 101 x 28.5)
Head size: 157x150mm
Freq.: 1290Hz
Balance: 2.6cm (Low)
Condition: Refurbished
Price: 60€ plus shipping

I don't seal all handles, just the ones that are stained. And I don't use varnish, that's what makes it slippery. There are several ways to do it, in this case I used true oil, and I can guarantee you that it feels very good in the hand. The downside is that it takes a long time to fully cure. The other way I do it is by using a water based lacquer applied in very thin layers, just a couple. Then I bring it down to a matte finish with a fine sanding mesh. I use this method in more porous woods so that the handle still maintains some texture. However, none of these have the feel of raw wood in the hand, and I don't recommend them to people who sweat a lot.

What's fineline?
Fineline is reconstituted wood, basically a bunch of thin sheets of wood glued together and cut in the perpendicular direction. This results in a very consistent veneer. Manufacturers mostly use it for their handles, however you can also see it as the top ply in many blades. Donic Epox and Nittaku Factive come to mind.

Thanks for your answer Sergio, could you compare vs Limba, Ayous or other wood?

This particular fineline is made with Ayous sheets, so it's relatively soft. The vertical lines act like the grain on solid wood, so it feels similar to a quarter sawn veneer. I like to call it the poor man's Hinoki, of course it's not the same thing but it's shares some characteristics like the softness and bounciness.
