Been waiting for the model name and release date to be leaked.

Butterfly, in collaboration with Daio Paper, has developed a new blade material, ELLEX-M, which is made of Celluose Nanofiber, or CNF. In simple English, it's essentially refined wood fiber. In terms of energy efficiency, CNF blows SP-ZLC out of the water.

Hopefully it won't end up like carbon nanotubes(CNTs).

I've used Google translate.
Daio Paper Co., Ltd. (Address: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) has developed a CNF molded product "ELLEX-M" in cooperation with Termas Co., Ltd. (Address: Suginami-ku, Tokyo) to develop applications for cellulose nanofibers ("CNF"). ] Has been successfully developed for use in high-performance table tennis rackets.
ELLEX-M is a CNF-rich blended product that combines CNF and valve fiber, which we have independently designed and developed as a sheet-like material that makes use of the strength and thermal properties of CNF. Since 2014, we have been working with Petamas * on the development of using as ping-pong racket materials to improve the performance of sports equipment using ELLEX-M. Based on the results of the joint research so far, we have succeeded in developing ELLEX M as a table tennis racket component that can enhance the power of hitting balls compared to conventional high-performance racket components. Half-mass Tamas manufactures and sells many table tennis products under the "Butterfly" trademark, and has the world's top track record in high-quality rackets for players (56.6% of all table tennis 2019 players use their own rackets). It is a domestic table tennis equipment manufacturer that has many domestic top players as contract players.
Energy efficiency that indicates the power of the hitting ball (number converted to the same material weight) Numerical value that indicates the power of the hitting ball calculated from the speed and rotation speed of the hitting ball The higher this number is, the higher the power of the hitting ball is
In the development of a table tennis racket with Tatamas, it has also been found that ELLEX-M exhibits CNF-specific performance that could not be achieved with conventional high-performance racket materials. At present, we are already in the commercialization stage, and we are accelerating development for early commercialization, such as conducting trial hit evaluations by Petamas contracted players.
The basic design of the ELLEX-M is our own development, but regarding mass production, Yamasei Corporation (Matsuyama-shi, Ehime) is working on the development of manufacturing technology. Yamasei Co., Ltd. has achieved improvement in production efficiency with support and subsidy from the Ehime Industry Promotion Foundation in Ehime Prefecture in 2016-2018.
What is cellulose nanofiber (CNF)? Bio-innovative advanced materials that have unique performances different from conventional paper pulp, such as characteristics called "strength of", and are attracting attention as renewable resources because they are derived from plants.

says Spin to win!
But who is this really for? ZLC was supposed to be better than ALC, yet it hasn't been adopted by as many players.

It get's to the point where it's just too quick (or too expensive) for the vast majority of players.

Whilst the pro's are using ALC, the paying public are unlikely to adopt these "new" technologies en masse.

Actually, this is more or less "paper" or the raw material for it. It might be that the paper has different properties but doesn't have the Persson Powerallround use also paper?

Right. The M here stands for molded sheet, and contains 50-80% CNF. It's being tested in the race car Samurai Speed. They fitted the hood, spoiler and rear door with Ellex-M to cut down the weight by half.

They have to be treated to become waterproof. It feels like thick paper. 5 times the strength of typical plastic.

Sounds like an upscale version of ALC.
