Andy's name is on Youtube ("About" section in the channel) and therefore public, and Linkedin is public too. Not sure where you are from, in the USA it is very usual to look people up on Linkedin. It's the professional network and when you put info online and make it publicly viewable then everyone can view it. Linkedin has ways to restrict information to the network too. In other words, if you want to hide don't put your info on Youtube or Linkedin or Facebook etc. In a certain way, Linkedin is your business card these days. Also he is advertising his channel on Linkedin, I guess he wouldn't do that if he doesn't want it to be seen as a valuabe professional experience leading to a job at some point.
