Are most of these serves illegal?

The other day YouTube recommended this to me. I can't see the point of impact on any of the serves. In this tournament, was there an unwritten rule that the veterans were allowed to serve behind their backs, as long as their opponents weren't objecting?

Of course, at this level, players are gunna push the serve rule as far as they can.

Overall, Persson's serves were clear. I saw at least 4 serves from his opponent clearly illegal. That means overall, bith served more clearly than pros.

I agree that Perssons serves look fine but the other guys shields loads.

Persson is still class BTW.

Lol, Andreas Podpinka...first Hungarian, than Belgian and now German nationality I see!

I once played against him on 07/08/1988 at a tournament in Torhout, Belgium.
Even at that time, many of his services were not in accordance with the rules.

I don’t know what you are talking about. I’m not patient enough to watch the whole match, but most of the serves look legal to me. If you watch pro table tennis in recent time, it’s much much worse than this.
