I always use the lowest of the warm settings on the lowest strength and it has never caused any problems.

I always use the cold setting because heat changes the rubber, it makes it softer. And even with the cold setting it takes only a few seconds to dry.

"Heat" (as in highest setting, close to the rubber) surely ain´t a good idea.

The lower settings from 10 cm distance for a few seconds are not even close to playing in a very warm hall, where over time temperature has an influence, albeit one that doesn´t last.

However, at the end of the day you can´t go wrong with cold.
