Maybe LJK just had one really good week. It's not like FZD was the only guy ye beat. It looks good for LJK with the coaches for sure, better than losing. But it is still only one really good week. If he keeps it up for a year leading to Tokyo then he's got something.

I see your point. I also see where the top players may not have been able to motivate themselves, thus mysterious early eliminations or 'injuries'.
But I saw a lot of passion and effort in Liang Jingkun's matches as if he had a point to prove. This win gives him a big psychological boost which signals to the rest that, "I came, I won. I am as good as you. Take me for granted at your peril!"

Obviously Fan wants to win, but again, you don't know the goals Qin Zhijian set for the match. In the absence of that context, you can read too much into the results. After all, the event was so important that Ma Long did not play and Xu Xin was largely demotivated to play hard vs Xu Chenhao. To be fair, Liang Jingkun did extremely well against the two players most motivated to compete with him, Wang Chuqin and Lin Gaoyuan, moreso because Wang is the clear favorite for the reserve position. But when you look at the performance of the three top players, it is hard to talk about their motivation without knowing their goals.

I saw this on 247tabletennis instagram post. Donic Ovtcharov True Carbon is the new blade (although it could just be a handle switch). Aparently he signed a contract with Donic.

Ex Donic ovtcharov true carbon.
A lot of chinese players use this blade, I dont know what is the reason because they can get any butterfly alc but maybe it is harder and better for overboost rubbers.

FEEL. IS. UNIQUE.

So says better players than Der_Echte...

Maybe this has been said before but now with Liang Jinkun using blue sponge H3 on his backhand, do you think we will see H3 Blue sponge on the new colour rubbers(Like the purple/blue rubber) so they can use it on both sides? Right now from what I understand they can't have the sponge on the red side because the blue shines through?

Depends if the newly defined colors can block the blue from passing through. Also, DHS has yet to solve bleeding with the RED pigment.
