Every Ito v China video will have tons of comments from Chinese netizens mocking her, but I think Ito's bright personality will give her a lot of potential to bring China and Japan together just as Fukuhara did, as Zeio pointed out implicitly in an earlier post.
Ishikawa needs to train with somebody stronger than Kato...

今年由于疫情赛事停摆,中国乒协为了重开世界杯和总决赛,以及刘国梁主席担任乒乓大联盟主席第一次举办的大满贯赛事。中国乒协在申请主办权的时候,国外疫情还很严重,很多运动员都不想参赛,当时乒协就保证过,一是国内疫情已经结束,防疫工作和乒乓基础设施完备。二是,只要其他协会能来,隔离的费用酒店的费用都由主办方承担,第三,由于限制人员,外协会人员一律可以和中国队一起训练。
否则人家也不会在上海隔离3天后坐15个小时的隔离大巴车,来到威海!到威海还得隔离10天,每天有3个小时单独训练的时间,隔离期间各协会队员训练不交叉。王楠为这次比赛提供了很多帮助。
新闻上虽然是是日本乒协请求,但其实咱们之前就答应人家,进了地主之谊。别的乒协也都乐意跟中国队合练,留在中国可以继续参加总决赛和澳门赛无需再次隔离。
这次威海世界杯中国队可以说下了血本的,很大一部分是财政上的支持,为的就是中国乒乓球队可以在奥运前有更多的机会磨合队伍。

新闻上特别强调是日本乒协邀请,而不强调别的乒协邀请,是因为中日的敏感性,一说咱们主动的都挨骂,说是应邀就显得我们很大方,伊藤的威胁很大,但是其实多碰一碰陈梦也是受益者。整体上我们还是有很大优势,所以希望球迷冷静,别一看见跟日本队练球就骂街

这次日本乒协是不支持伊藤和石川参赛的,两个人都是自费参赛,中方在邀请两人时就说过,只要能来就行,别的费用并不需要伊藤和石川承担,住宿,伙食,检测费用都是中方出,可以保证隔离期间每天3小时的训练。伊藤要求6小时,但是由于人多达不到让王楠给拒绝了。每个隔离房间都有健身器材,可以锻炼身体和步伐

据说机票钱是他们自己出,所以斯佐科斯一个人来的,教练都是跟她视频沟通,即使后面没比赛,留在中国训练,有中国队员的陪练也是比较合适的,她可以待到澳门赛结束。

昨天我在别的帖子说了一下,是马琳邀请伊藤跟陈梦练球,就有粉丝跑去马琳微博下骂人,说是马琳坑陈梦,其实练一两次球改变是不大的,而且奥运会不管谁参加,以陈梦现在的积分都牢牢的固定为一号种子,只有决赛才会遇见。伊藤会适应陈梦的球,陈梦也会适应伊藤的球。相比反胶颗粒更怕适应,所以对陈梦反而优势更大。

At that time, the CTTA made the promise that, first, the domestic outbreak had come to an end, and the pandemic prevention as well as table tennis infrastructure were complete and thorough. Second, as long as other associations participated, the cost of quarantine and hospitality would be paid by the organizer. Third, due to restrictions on personnel, all members of the foreign associations could train with the CNT.
Otherwise, people would not have traveled to Weihai in a quarantine coach for a 15-hour ride, after being quarantined in Shanghai for 3 days! They still had to be quarantined for 10 days after arriving in Weihai, with 3 hours of individual training every day. During the quarantine, the training of members of every association did not overlap. Wang Nan provided a lot of help for this competition.
Although it was reported in the news as an invitation from the JTTA, we had actually accepted it prior to this and as a token of friendship as the host. Other Associations were also willing to practice with the CNT, staying in China after the World Cup to participate in the ITTF Finals and WTT Macau without having to go through quarantine again.
It can be said the CNT spent an arm and a leg for this World Cup in Weihai, a large part of which is financial support, so that the CNT can have more opportunities to "break in" the team before the Olympics.

I had posted the following in the MWC thread when it was 1-1. Looks like more discussion in this thread regarding MWC.
"Harimoto beating ML like a drum. ML's FH power is gone, BH unstable. Lots of problems with serve receive. Harimoto's BH wide to ML FH is killing him. This can easily end up 4-1 Harimoto."

Wow did not expect ML to pull out this win. Will need to play much better against FZD in final if he hopes to win. His loss of FH power is noticeable as is slightly slower footwork.

The time out at 5:4 in the 4th game totally change the momentum match. As @NoFootwork mentioned, the high toss serves really made a difference. Ma Long returned Harimoto's services much better later as well, not that many chances for Harimoto's forehand flick. He also was able to get back on the forehand when Harimoto changing the direction down the line. Overall, really good turn around from Ma Long!

Funny. Exactly same for me. Writing, TT: left hand. Throwing: right hand. (soccer: right foot - Badminton or Tennis are also confusing, have a tendency to pick up racket with right hand, but then I play them with left hand.)
