With few exceptions, most players from Europe, America and Caribbean look rather sharp here. Amazing what a few weeks of isolation and focused training could do?

Speak of the devil. Solja is 2 games ahead. What's going on, CM?

Go Solja! Undoubtedly the best player in Europe

Ma Lin: 没关系!怕什么
even after Chen Meng is trailing 0-2 really speaks volumes about the confidence CNT has in their players.

CM is slowly looking like her batch mate ZYL – playing very cautiously against external players they rarely encounter but playing to the best of their ability against teammates. 想贏怕輸

Can't help but compare the mid-gen to SYS and WMY.

A slow starter as always, CM could get eliminated before she meets Ito if she gets sent to the Olympics. The problem is whether the opponent has the will to win.

Nah, the best player in Europe is Polcanova.

Solja has gotta dropped some pounds. She can't get out of the way on those loose balls close to her body, when it counted.

Suh Hyo Won has got to be the world's most difficult name.

First, it was too difficult for ITTF so they changed her name from Seo to Suh.
Then, Britt Eerland did not even want to pronounce her name on air for fear of butchering it.
and now she is known as "Sun Ho Yuan"

It was changed around the 2nd half of 2012.

According to Bobrow in a commentary session years later, it was the South Korean team that felt the romanization system used wasn't a truthful representation of how it should sound, so they requested for the change. Kind of similar to SGP instead of SIN. They also changed the written form to be in line with China, with no space or hyphen between the characters of the first name/given name.

SYS said she couldn't get through SHW with her FH loop.

Wow at Suh. She's doing so well considering that the only active chopper left on the team for the Chinese women to practise with is also a long pips defender. Of course Suh attacks more than Liu Fei but... this calls for a closed-door training camp! Ma Te and Hou Yingchao to be recalled haha ~

This is why one never takes South Korea out of the equation. They come in 2nd in terms of Olympic medals.

CM: Gotcha! Queen of Opens I am!

Has SHW grown by an inch or 2 today? She's got such a long wingspan! Keeps getting those wide shots back!

Yes, korean romanisation is trash.

Everytime Sun Ho Yuan tries a backhand punch, it gets crushed by SYS. That being said, she's already redeemed herself and shut all her critics up this tournament.
