Even worse when your opponent switches between Mandarin and Cantonese seamlessly by offering tactical advice in Cantonese and disparaging comments in Mandarin.

LMAO at 0:49 when Zhang Chao yells in Mandarin "he's more scared than you're. No problem!"

There is no question that Wang Chuqin was kinda more scared than Zhou Qihao in that match. And I think overall Wang Chuqin lacks the confidence in the top end strokes compared to Zhou Qihao who seems to be a lot more confident.

But Wang wasn't able to utilize the 100% because if he was then he would've done so. He was way overwhelmed by Zhou Qihao more robust and powerful performance which Wang was stymied by.

There seems to be a misconception amongst some people that Ma Long or other established vets needs to prove himself/themselves at the National Championships. The people trying to prove themselves are the ones who haven't made a name for themselves yet and can get some recognition with a good performance.

I think what you get wrong is that this wasn't a claim that there is an obligation in any way for the vets to prove themselves, but rather it was merely coming from the perspective of Ma Long's fan as a personal wish of how epic would it have been if Ma Long had swept through all the players just like he had been going consistently so far until this final match against LGY.

Ma long wont play tokyo... This is not my opinion just facts
I was hoping Ma Long would beat Lin Gaoyuan so that he maintains his goat title and prove his skill and legacy still while he's still actively playing.

ML's performance at this tournament, especially in the team event, affects his GOAT title and legacy in no way whatsoever. My post wasn't even directed only at you, but I'm not sure how the quoted comment reads as "wasn't a claim that there is an obligation in any way for the vets to prove themselves".

No dice on any of them unfortunately.

Was curious to see who will be playing their ways into the main draws as well.

ML's performance at this tournament, especially in the team event, affects his GOAT title and legacy in no way whatsoever. My post wasn't even directed only at you, but I'm not sure how the quoted comment reads as "wasn't a claim that there is an obligation in any way for the vets to prove themselves".

It doesn't matter on the bigger stage but I'm sure every single match he loses even in Team championships does matter for Ma Long personally as well as the smaller circles and it tells something about his performance and reputation among other players. This was merely a personal matter which you still don't seem to get it, I know that this does not pertain to his legacy overall in terms of winning big world titles.

You don't need to keep saying "I don't get it".

Re-read your initial post. "I was hoping Ma Long would beat Lin Gaoyuan so that he maintains his goat title and prove his skill and legacy still while he's still actively playing."

Rather than telling people they should have been able to read your mind and personal feelings on the matter, you can just say that you worded your first post poorly and clearly stated that his performance at this tournament has an affect on his GOAT title and legacy, and he needs to prove his skill. It is literally your exact words.

Chen Meng and Fan Zhendong still don't get the job done (easily) it seems...

I haven't really watched enough in recent times to say, but it feels like (and based on sentiment from those in the know) that Sun Yingsha may end up being the leader of the women's team in the next generation...

FZD won the singles in 2014, beating ML in the final.

CM, OTOH, has yet to 開齋.
