I would like to get opinions on a group of websites that are attempting to sell table tennis equipment. I'm very suspicious of these websites but not absolutely certain that they are scam or fraud. Normally when I am correctly suspicious of a website I can get verification that it is a scam by simply googling the domain name along with the words scam or fraud and I quickly get discussions about it being a scam. So far my attempts at this have not shown the below websites to be scams but this could be because each of the websites is very new and there hasn't been enough time for this yet.

The websites that I am suspicious of are as follows:

Oops. Forum rules are that I am not able to put place links in any post until my sixth post. I think this is important enough to make it worth being posted six times. This is post 1

Things that make me suspicious of these websites are as follows:

1) When scrolling through the items for sale, I find multiple versions of the same item with slight differences in description and header. I believe that this is due to the fact that a robot was used to pinch the list of items from actual legitimate sites. The robot was not able to understand that they were the same item

2) Some of the sites have domain names that have recently been registered.

3) The domain names are not very good. They don't mean anything.

4) Table Tennis websites that handle these types of goods are normally specialised table tennis only websites. They are not normally part of a general all sports websites. The required inventory for all these goods would be enormous.

5) In some of them the apparent total number of table tennis items is excessive.

6) Structural problems with the menu/index system. Starting from the home pages of these websites it is not easy or possible to find all the table tennis items that are available from the links that I gave above.

7) The prices are often too good to be true. Are they really selling Tenergy 05 for under fifty dollars?

Can anybody confirm or refute my suspicions for any of these websites? If they were legitimate there are items there that I would love to purchase at their prices.

Cheers
Ken

You are right to be suspicious and you've listed several features in scam websites or vendors of fakes. As you note, they often sell lots of stuff besides TT equipment, and you can sometimes tell that the operators don't have a passion for TT. (A big contrast from, say, TT11). Otherwise why would they sell skateboards too? I usually check do they have a phone number, and do they take PayPal? If they list an email, search Google for that email followed by word scam. Sometimes that gets hits when the domain name doesn't. And if in doubt check here. If nobody here has heard of them it is a red flag. Prices too good to be true are....... too good to be true. Tenergy under 50 USD is simply without question impossible. That in itself should be a deal breaker. Thanks for posting this. And please don't buy from them.

Could you please place the following links into my post entitled "Likely Scam or Fraud Table Tennis Equipment Websites". It should be obvious where they go. Regardless of the fact that you have verified me as a user, I still don't have the ability to modify my post to place these links in it.

Yep very good suggestions ! with Baal and merlin el mago yesterday we had to debunk a fraudulent website, the process I've used, also with all being said by the OP, was clicking on "About Us" and "Contact". Then I've copy/paste the contact email in google followed by "scam" and "arnaques" (as I'm french) and then saw all the negative reviews about this particular email used for many other websites.
