Hayata 11:9 NANBA Yurika in the 5th and final game. Went from 9:4 -> 9:9. 😵

Very poor match for Hayata. Too focused on the 發力(force generation) game, and neglected the 借力(force redirection) game. Nanba made use of her speed and took full advantage of Hayata's poor receiving and inconsistent BH.

It appears the JTTA used the All-Japan 2020 results for the seeding(hence the weird draw), with Kato manually wedged between Nagasaki and Odo?

the final will be HAYATA v ANDO.
HAYATA beated NAGASAKI 3-0 in semis, and KATO 3-1 in QF,
while ANDO beated SHIBATA 3-2 in semis

just saw the match for 5th/6th place between SATO and ODO.
a lot of very nice rallies. ODO is the 2-times reigning junior champion. SATO won 12-10 in game 5, after being down 8-10...

So it will be... Hayata and Ando joining the Olympics trio for WTTC2021? I'm assuming that Japan has five slots too. Where's Kihara? I thought she was the most promising...

The only match in which Hayata dropped the first game happens to be the best one for Hayata.

Ando didn't even use her TO. Win-win either way?

the video says it was the selection trial tournament for the Asian Championships this year, not the WC

HAYATA beated ANDO 3-1 in the final
ANDO is a good T-League player, but thats it. [she got a good win against MORI and another one against FENG Tianwei]
In this year National Championships she won against Kasumi KIMURA before losing to Mima ITO
She was very lucky to get to the final as she avoided all the strong opponents

How did she get to the final
    YAYOI , YUMOTO (group)
    TAIRA Mayuka (1/8)
    ODO (1/4)
    SHIBATA (1/2)

    while HAYATA played against
    NAKAMORI, TAIRA Mayuka (group)
    NANBA (1/8)
    KATO (1/4)
    NAGASAKI (1/2)

    ....
as for KIHARA, she won against HARA 3-1 in the group phase but lost SHIBATA 0-3 and that was the end of it for her.

happy for HAYATA, she's not losing to KATO anymore.
she's playing so fast in the final, sometimes i couldn't see where she is hitting the ball.

as for ANDO good for her, but i don't think she's got the required level. against HAYATA she almost never had the time to do a FH drive, she was just blocking or counter-hitting flat

    the draw was too random.

Interesting speech by Miyazaki, using Hirano's example at the ATTC 2017 to encourage Hayata.

Is she the making of a Japanese CM? After finally breaking free from Japanese ZYL (i.e. Kato).

    wtf NIWA ?
his tournament is already over, he lost to a young player SUZUKI 1-3, and 2-3 to Kazuhiro YOSHIMURA
good luck in the Olympics !

MIZUTANI won his league, 3-0 against little Sora, and 3-1 against last year champ UDA

    edit
wow little Sora pushes UDA out 3-0 !!! he has improved spectacularly
