If you can get revolution No3 glue, try that glue, a couple of coats on both blade and rubber. Go for the normal viscosity. Usually, when you remove the rubber, the blade ends up glue free with all glue on the rubber, this glue is pretty easy to remove from the rubber, if you get it right sometimes it peels off in one piece!!!

I just wonder if there are any other way to remove RUBBER CEMENT from a blade, meaning not using your thumb.

Must be some solvent that will do the trick without penetrating the wood, I guess.

You can also try using a piece of dense polystyrene or the rubber eraser as mentioned. But it can take a while
