Kim Jung Hoon vs a Pro Player Div Slappie

Here is a match of KJH vs a dude in the Pro Player Division, likely a city player, which is usually 2600+ USATT. Zero handicap in this div if both are classified as Pro Player Division.Match looks kinda unfair, eh? :D

That guy who plays in the back during the first set... He plays shakehand but his backhand looks like traditional penhold backhand :D

Nice backhand punch! Not so common to see nowadays. Think more players could vary alot more by doing some punches. Is the other guy really 2600+? Feel like his basics seem pretty off.

I hear you Lula, but KJH in 2018 was still prolly mid 2700s... vs a 2600, at that level 150 pts is like 4 levels minimum.

Such a player will make a 2600s player look real silly.

I saw the finals of 2018 LA Open. An upper 2600s coach from Swan Warriors defeated many higher level players... including a couple WR 100 or better pro players to make the finals vs Hao Yingchao ex CNT chopper with sp bh... and Hou was rated upper 2700s.

Hou did a chop and Swan Coach looped... rarely made loop to the net... Hou chop dead float and Swan coach looped it out 3 meters. Hao chop heavy, Swan coach try to push that chop... never made it to net.

Hou made that coach look like a recreational player. There was about the same difference of level between them and KJH vs city team player in the vid.

EDIT, this was Jinbao Ma and Jinbao was rated 2732 and Hou was proll just under 2800, so even less difference in ratings points than KJH vs the ave city team player. Jinbao didn't defeat any WR100, I was wrong, but he sure battled well to get to finals, there were several pros there.

In Korea, you make the city team, in any of those cities near Seoul, and the larger ones down south, you are over 2600 level.

MP, I would agree the USATT rating system is not efficient accross teh country for so many reasons so many have discussed in the past.

The main point being that at the very high levels, 100 points of difference in rating is a HUGE gulf in class... many times the difference in class than 100 points at lower level is. At the top level, a player who is 100 rating points better player will normally destroy the opponent's game making it look easy and making the lower rated opponent look like they never got training.

That is what 100 points at the highest levels will do, That was the main point I was replying to Lula's question.
