    Could you give more context?
File transfer between 2 persons or more?
    Which file size?
    Free or paid?

Some sort of cloud storage solution would generally work well and be relatively easy to use, like Amazon s3.

Context required! But I'm going to say, whenever possible, use OpenSSH's scp/sftp in combination with public key authentication. For automatic synchronisation, use something like rsync or unison over ssh.

(Previous suggestions entail putting your content in the hands of a third party. If your notion of "secure" allows "but I have no problem with disclosing everything to third parties and to all others these third parties grant access to", then that's fine, of course. Although I'd say that's a silly notion of security, that does not care about confidentiality, integrity and authenticity much.)
