I think it is hard to say a certain time, better to go after how it feels.

Some Hongkong folks in my club have been playing short pips without changing rubbers for 2 or 3 years. I think it last longer than either inverted or long pips so I am thinking about changing my rubber to short pips. But also it depends on your style. My guess is if you need friction then you might change it more often than if your style is hitting like these HK'ers.

Yeah, go with the feel. I like mine grippy, so I change every 4-6 months. Some people want less grip, in that case a year or 2 is no problem.

Topsheet is the first to go, sponge last a good while, you can always reboost.
