Just came by this post in FB from DHS where Wang Hao is ripping balls from a new robot from DHS.

Hm, it looks nice and impressive, but it's a gimmick imho. This robot performs same functions as any "old style" wheel powered robot do -it serves the balls and the player returns it and that's it.

Don't know if anyone remembers, but there is an Omron robot whose design is much more promising in that you can actually play against it. Here is Dan playing against it:
