Here is a match between pro-player division Lee Uhng-Ryong (never was a pro player, but if you were professionally trained as a young kid and were in the system long enough to get good, you can only play in pro player div in a natl tourney) and a Div 1 natl level player.

This gives you an idea of the average top end amateur players in each of these divisions.

Thanks Der-Echte .. very nice match .... So, were both these players semi-pro/amateur-level ?

LUR, in blue Nexy jersey, is pro-player division, but was never a pro player. You get assigned to pro player division if you were a pro-trainied school TT athlete. Many of these never become pros, but since they are WAY WAYWAYWAY better than amateurs who never got pro training as a kid, it simply isn't fair - no way an amateur without pro training could compete, so they make the pro player division for these school trained players and they can compete only there.

This is a special private club challenge tourney, so they let any good amateur in, but play handicap matches.

JHK, in hte red shirt is a very skilled Div 1 national level amateur, actually one level better than that class, so he gets (Special) put at the end of his division classification.

In USATT ratings, the red shirt is around 2450-2500. Lee Uhng Ryong is likely 2600-2650, maybe better, but I do not really know.
