Andrea, you inspired me to try to play with my Megablock. I hadn't played with it for a while. I drew a perfect vacuum. ( That is headed engineer speak for I sucked ). My anti hitting was awful. Just bouncing the ball back wasn't winning me any points because my practice partner has lots of playing against my LP or Anti. I found I had to play more like your style where I had to move and use my FH to win points. What worked well was blocking short to the sides just behind the net. When I get a weak return I can move fast enough so that I can kill with my FH.

I decided that Megablock or any friction-less anti didn't fit my personality, too passive, so I removed it and put on 1.5mm Yasaka Anti Power, YAP. YAP has more friction but then I could return "running serves" with a chop was only marginally effective but better than with friction-less anti. I would try to chop deep. Otherwise I was trying to block left and right and angles and just behind the net until I could get a FH attack.

So friction-less anti is not the right rubber for me. I really don't think it is the right rubber for you. We'll see.

I'm happy i inspired you! that's exactly what you should do with a slow antitop on bh.
Unfortunately this style is not suitable for everyone. I understand you prefer to play with YAP, it's more versatile!

But now I know I am not a frictionless anti player. I need to be more aggressive. Just bouncing the ball back isn't enough.
BTW, go to the OOAK forum if you haven't found it already.

They have more anti and LP players there. There is one player, AA, that seems to be sponsored by Der Material Specialist and plays with frictionless anti
There is a section on anti rubbers

Practice blocking short. Here is a video where I win 3 points in 2 minutes blocking short with LP 0X Giant Dragon Talon

I think this would drive the choppers nuts and would have made the match against the chopper easier.

I'm already a member of the OOAK forum. Great community! I have posted in the video section.
AA is a very strong anti player, definitely better than me. But i'm not crazy about his style.

I saw your video. Great timing on the ball both FH both BH!

You are using ABS now, did you consider trying ABS 2 , 2 Soft or ABS 2 Evo?

Hi Omar!
I have never tried them. I'm not one who likes to do so many experiments.
You instead? if you could give me your opinion on these i would be grateful. ;)

Another good video. I liked this video too. I am paying attention to how close off the bounce you are hitting the ball. What do you do when your oppoent hits a very fast ball? Do you pull the paddle back like a catcher does with his mitt when catching a fast ball? Pulling your paddle back slightly will reduce the speed of the return significant and allow you to block shorter. Your opponent seemed to have trouble with the anti.
Some people don't know they should push one and top spin the next when playing against LP and anti. BTW, I removed my frictionless anti and replaced it with Yasaka Anti Power. It has a little more grip and less passive spin reversal. Yasaka anti power requires a more active stroke but I can chop a bit if necessary. I like your videos.

Thank you brokenball! :)
I do exactly what you said when i have to respond a fast topspin. It is more issue of reflexes than technique.

By the way, new training video with slow sponge!

I would like to see you block short at an angle against a chopper when he is back from the table. I know you can do it. That will make them run up and back. If you block short to their pips, they will struggle to get the ball back and you will own them.
