Hi all,
does anyone know the different playing characteristics between these two blades.

Does either one lend itself to a particular style of play?

I tend to play close to the table and have poor technique when it comes to looping.
I tend to hit through the ball as opposed to brushing it. (flat hit?)
I'm happy to get drawn into a bit of a pushing rally when required and love a bit of blocking.

I chose these two blades as I particularly want a light blade due to injury issues.

If it makes a difference, I have Rakza 7 1.8mm on both sides.

They state they are both made of balsa but I assume they must be different somehow or they wouldn't produce them both.

Thank you for any opinions.

From memory the two blades are quite similar, both have that unique layer of balsa with fiber direction towards the surface (usually the direction is along the surface). The 5.0 is just a little faster, as the balsa layer is thicker. Both blades are a little bouncy, but since Rakza 7 is not that bouncy, and you're only using 1.8mm, it should work fine.
The 4.5 is discontinued (that whole range is discontinued) and the blade balsa series replaces it.
