New Xiom Jekyll and Hyde Rubbers
A new series of XIOM rubbers added to the LARC. Interesting name. Any further info?

If the name has any significance it would seem imply "two difference personalities or characteristics". How that could apply to a table tennis rubber, I don't know...maybe the rubber behaves differently depending on the stroke you apply??? I've often fantasised about a rubber that could act like a LP when performing a chopping motion but act like an offensive rubber on loops ð

Anyone's guess is as good as mine, but my hunch says it's bound to be a hybrid, with a responsive EU/JP style sponge and a tacky CN style topsheet.

Perhaps it's like one of short pimple rubbers that can be glued onto your blade in two orientations? Although you would not be able to see the pimples, the orientation probably still has an impact.

Well my crazy idea would be that the rubber would be inverted and have different thickness of pimples arranged in some meaningful way.
But you are kind of supposed to only hit in the center anyway so, you know, doesnt make much sense even to me.

Have been added to the eu site.
I am a little ticked, quite like the art, and the 52 degree one should have a different one, can be seen on the jp site, also the eu site literally explains nothing about the rubber so in one sentence "Its our hybrid sticky rubber!".

The V versions from what I can gather are modern tensors while the H version will be an hybrid.
The V 47.5° and 52.5° are now available in most countries in Europe so I look forward to the tests.
They have been available for a few weeks in Asia and there's a review on Youtube if you can understand Japanese (sorry I can't post the link)

Contra and TT11 have got listings for the two V variations, not quite in stock yet but hopefully imminent.
Not seen any European listings for the X, Z, or H variants yet unfortunately.
The japanese youtube vids do seem to show that H is tackier than V, as fluff mentioned.

So there's actually 4 different kinds of top sheet?
H,V,X,Z ?

I think the full list is:
V47.5
V52.5
X47.5
X50.0
H52.5
Z52.5
H might be the tackiest one, Z is the expensive "pro" version. I'm not sure which ones are totally different topsheets, I have seen images of V and H on this (crazy) youtube channel...
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqW..._qkgQ/featured
...and they look different. But no idea how that related to X and Z.The Following User Likes AndySmith's Post:

I think you guys are mixing the rasanter and Jekyll & Hyde threads ..
the J&H versions are V,X,H and Z
as AndySmith pointed out the Z version is the premium version.
The J&H concept is two opposing characteristics in 1 rubber but even after reading the description for the V version it's still a little vague. According to the description it combines conflicting performances "speed and spin" or "speed and control" and at different gears.
The X version will be focusing on the catapult effect.

To add to Fluff's post above, xiom.jp have posted an interesting "story" about V47.5:
https://xiom.jp/?tid=3&mode=f29
The translation seems to hint at a low trajectory until you add sharp bushing contact, which reminds me a bit of Tibhar Hybrid K3. I'm looking forward to giving this a go.
Can't seem to find a european store for the others though. Was hoping to try Z...

Xiom J&H C60. Not sure when they will release it, it's not even on the ittf approved equipment list at the moment.

Good grief. I assume the C stands for Concrete
Little bit more chatter about V and H here:
https://world-tt.com/blog/news/archives/22322
V being non-tacky, "like a high-end variation of the Vega line", H being a slightly tacky hybrid. The Following User Likes AndySmith's Post:

Yea this letter categorization seems to have gotten out of hand at some point.
