Hi Cofu2
I didn’t understand if you were new to the sport or switching from shakehand.
My advice for rubber is definitely rakza 7 or (if you want butterfly) rozena or possibly fastarc C1. If you are looking for a Chinese type rubber then dhs skyline 2 is not a bad choice.

My dad taught me to use penhold when I was a small kid, and then after I played with my classmates at school I found out there's the shakehand style, and I never used penhold again lol

As for rubber choices, I see no reason why you can't use any of the rubbers a shakehand style would use, it's the play style that defines the rubber choices, not the grip style.

It’s a very soft blade for plastic ball. You want some hard-ish fast rubbers.

Low budget - DHS goldarc 8, Vega Asia/Pro, R7
High budget - Ransanter R53, Tenergy 05, Dignics 05

41degree commercial H3 on both sides.
Very beginner friendly😏
(Joke of course)

beginner rubber( depending on your skill level)

Cheap: 61 second blue sponge 2.0mm
Palio AK47 Yello

higher quality but faster ( may be later on) Razar 7

You want to try and keep the ball on the table as a beginner.
Therefore stay away from really really fast rubber initially as you develop your strokes.

729 focus 3 snipe
I’m actually looking to assemble a paddle for my 11 year old and I’m thinking focus 3 snipe on yinhe e3vb. Would a medium sponge for f3s be suitable for beginner or should I get softer sponge. I know the f3s sponge is soft to begin with.
