Tenergy also have commercial versions and pro versions.
Its more a quality control issue where the pros get the best of the best, but for some, maybe they would for example, make the sponge harder than the regular version.
DHS just makes it "open card", unlike many brands that hides pro versions and in recent years DHS has started commercializing of it. I guess quality control is now better and the can produce a lot more compared to previous decades.
firstly, when comes to DHS, there are different sponges (not just by color) and then from there you get the hardness.
the hardness indicator also refers to how many layers of booster you can use, for example OP's 39, I won't put too much on, otherwise it will be too soft.
In recent years, you also get softer ones like 37, for the backhand.
The comes to boosting, blue sponge is designed for boosting.
If you a Timo kind of guy, then NEO is factory boosted. Normal H3 would have no boosting.
99% of the people (that aren't hobby players) I know, who use blue sponge, will boost. And if they get a Neo, they would remove the factory booster and use their own layer.
boosting does reduce the shelf life of the rubber a lot. Incorrect or "bad luck" boosting, could actually result in the rubber unusable (bubbling - sponge and top sheet separating) on your 1st day.
most higher level players around me, won't use it for more than a month, mostly change around 2 ~ 3 weeks.
