Who is your favourite of these two defenders, modern vs. classic, Koji Mastushi.ta vs. Joo Se Hyuk!!!

While aesthetically classical defenders such as Koji (probably) looks better dancing and prancing around the battlefield, modern defenders definitely has the edge to compete better (more effectively) in modern table tennis (thus it is called modern defence..)

The record speaks for itself..

I'm not sure if I'd even call Matsu****a a classic defender definitely a classic player though. He topspins the ball plenty and will run in for a kill when necessary. I just think Joo's forehand is a bit more advanced compared to him.

I love Joo in that he's got the quickest reflexes and possibly the fastest legs in the game for sure has the most endurance, but as for entertainment value goes Matsu****a was always the flashier player. I mean he's the type of guy who could do cartwheels and still win the point. So it's really hard to say who is my favorite.

Yea it's a tough one, Matsushi.ta was great. I love watching Joo's older matches as he attacked so much more on his forehand side than he does now

Nice compilation Matt

...I sure miss watching Koji. He always reminds me players from the 60's. His FH side spins reminds me of Weixing's. But if I were to vote, I would go for Joo for his more direct offence.

Would be interesting to have a 4 way vote including Ding Song and Hou Yingchao. Personally think Yingchao is an absolute BOSS haha

I voted for joo, cause he is more of a consistent chopper. But I also like koji his attack and many other surprises really entertains me.

Agree, Koji is a more entertaining player, I found watching the video back that the Joo half isn't anywhere near as exciting to watch
