Emrathich recommends lightly sealing your blade. He tested sealed vs unsealed blades, and couldn’t tell the difference.
use a solvent glue , it has no water to harm the plys ,, from contra .de , called normal glue is a solvent glue sold in tins 750ml has 8 times more glue than you get in a water based glue costing the same as 80ml bottle 19 euros .. its sticks well with thin a layer plays like a demon speed glue for 3 -4 days you can also boost then glue it on . ... wait that long before tournament play one can smell it !!
Pretty sure solvent glue is basically... wait for it... speed glue
Glues do not splinter, the user does. If You rip the rubber of side to side (against the grain) instead ot bottom to top You minimize the risk of splintering.
Another vote for revolution here.

Emrathich recommends lightly sealing your blade. He tested sealed vs unsealed blades, and couldn’t tell the difference. The weight difference was also negligible. A thicker layer will make the blade slightly harder, and slightly stiffer.
I’ve noticed the biggest causes of peeling up wood are:
- Very old glue — rubber’s been on blade a long time
- Dinged edge of blade without sanding & sealing damage
- Peeling off rubber lengthwise
