So sad to hear of the death at age 66 of England's Anita Stevenson. You can see an obituary notice on the TTE site. I was at the TT Centre in Loughborough when two young girls, Anita and Janet Billson, first turned up and the manager, Dave Arterton, asked me to help them with the FH drive (my best shot). Her parents were lovely people, who played in the lower divisions. Much later, after I had returned from abroad, got married in 1970 and returned there on a visit, I had the honour of playing a friendly game with Anita, in which I just managed to get 12 points (12-21). She was obviously a very dedicated player. Later on, I believe that she suffered from depression - that's hard to comprehend in such a delightful girl and I could never have imagined that I (76 coming up) would outlive her.
