First of all, Happy Mid-Autumn Festival to Tony and all here. Spend some time with your family tonight.
And no, we don’t BBQ, we eat moon cakes and other stuff and look at the moon. Mostly chat. You guys are waaayyyy different from the traditional ways😂

I found out about the BBQ, apparently in the 80s there was a tv advert from a soya sauce company that promoted its bbq sauce and encourage the "1 family bbq, 10000 people can smell it" and from there it became its own tradition

Oh, moon cakes. What is that?
you talking about that 500 kj ~ 1000kj stuff I ate so many of them this week already?
I think i need to go back to the centre for another hour of knock tomorrow.

Well, same goes for tony then, CCP tells you something and you don’t believe it, even if it might be the truth. Also, if you want to call me granny, you need to show some respect to your elders, haven’t your mom taught you how you should talk to an elder? And being in Asia is not the same as being in China, so don’t behave like you know something when you actually don’t. I also have family members that are Doctors, three in fact. I also have cousins that is a Chengguan in Shanghai, so yeah I know all the details that you don’t even have access to. But that’s not the point. The point is, from all the data that’s publicly available, it’s highly possible that the numbers announced by the CCP is not too far off, and you are just biased on what you think because the people who told you stories are biased. Losers always have excuses, but they forget that they were part of the problem.

To bird, 中秋快乐!

The Chinese officials had decided to lockdown the ENTIRE CHENGDU after hundreds of daily covid cases.

Its going ahead, with 2 weeks to go until teams start flying in.
Still no player list yet. Either local community or ITTF is not on track, but 2 weeks to go to arrival/3 weeks to draw... is very very near by.

Some national fed already announced the names and with some not sending a team (like Canada sending a who ever wants to go and pay yourself 2nd or 3rd team).
They should of find a way to keep individual ranking points included in these teams.

haha, someone hurt your feelings?

Seems like someone needs an English lesson or two.

Btw, since you’re just biased and don’t really have the capacity to think, or don’t have the need to think because you just believe the stories, you can keep saying what you’ve been saying. But just remember that people that’s dumb can’t realize that they’re dumb, because to realize they’re dumb they need to be smart. People who’s wrong can’t realize they’re wrong, because they think they’re right.

yeah, I'm open for learning. Why not granny?

So looks like you are giving your last struggle because now you see you’re wrong , but still not willing to admit it yet, and you’ve sunken yourself to the point to start calling others names. Good choice.

Shouldn’t you be doing that for me grandson? Or in Chinese, 孙子? Actually I’ve never seen anyone who voluntarily want to be a grandson to others , especially one who knows Chinese and the meaning of being one. 孙子, yes?😂 So from now on I’ll just call you that, because that’s what you want lol

you should go sleep granny.
in Chinese culture, it is norm to call elders aunties and grannys.
But you know, they don't call nephews or grandson back - you a bit confused it seems.

Anyways, do you have anything to add to the world team champs finals?
can't remember if you added anything of value yet.

So since your homeland is hosting this, what say you?

But that’s where you’re wrong, seems like you don’t know the Chinese culture as well as you think. In China only kids call elders that, if you’re a grown man/women you don’t, so unless you’re admitting you’re a kid that knows nothing, you’re using it in for a different purpose and in Chinese we call it 自认孙子. So 乖孙子, go play mud in the corner, your elders are talking here.

well, since Chinese people comes from all segments, it doesn't mean your roots equates to all.

so if you are a 30 year old or 40 year old person and you see a 90 year old, From your side of China, what do you call that person?
westerns call by the name, some still calls Aunty/Uncle as respect.
I know the CCP did try to change a lot of culture values - so this is indeed an interesting and sincere question - are you up to the challenge to reply sincerely?

And if you are treating a 15 year old as an elder.... you really need to go and sleep haha.
How old are you btw?

Doesn’t matter how old I am, since your admitted that I’m your granny than you’re just positioning yourself as my grandson, simple as that. Also like I said before, you only call the elderly gramps/granny when you’re a kid, doesn’t matter where you’re from in China, if you’re a grown man/woman you call those who’s obviously older than you 老+their family name, or maybe if you don’t know them you call them 大爷 or 大娘 or 大叔 or some other similar terms, but no one use the term 爷爷奶奶 like you just did. Those terms are also different from your normal aunt/uncle gramps/granny, which are usually reserved for people that are close to you or your actual family members. And if you’re calling someone roughly your own age that and you are clearly having an argument with, there’s only one possible way of interpretation and that’s you’re positioning yourself as a lesser being to the other. Oh, and you are the one that’s treating me as an elder, so if I say I’m 15 then does that mean you are telling yourself to go to sleep? lol And about cultural values, yeah like you know about that, I’ve yet to see you demonstrate your respect to your elders.

Btw, I thought you needed an English lesson, but looks like I was wrong about that, you need both English and Chinese lessons, plus some proper Chinese cultural tutoring.

And I’ve always been replying sincerely, it’s you who is not because you started calling names. This just shows how narrow minded you are, can’t accept that there’s always more to what others tell you, I’m fine with that.

South Africa isnt a "regime of the past" as you say. If you go there today, discrimination is live and well in 2022. Injustice is not unique to south africa. I just point out that from the very place you live, you are completely blind to your bias and hypocrisy.

And you still cant answer my simple question about economic prosperity. Simple question: Would people be happy to live in America without its economic prosperity, but kept its democratic government/freedoms? For example, Ghana ranks higher in democratic freedom than Ukraine (which is the flagbearer for democracy today). How many people want to move to and raise their kids on $2300 a year (GDP per capita)? Again, my question is just to highlight your hypocrisy and flawed narrative.

Look. On a table tennis forum, you go out of your way to bring up politics and attack a country on multiple threads, you then can't even answer my simple question that highlights your hypocrisy. Then you act all self-righteous and spend all the time talking about how amazing a human being you are.

You are like one of those martial arts masters who talk so much about themselves that they trick themselves into believing that they can beat real mma fighters. You just keep believing in your own self righteousness.

I guess CCP did change quite a few of Chinese values since the take over and I guess it is good that Confucius values are bought back to society after a few decades of being abolished due to the cultural revolution.
I do hope one day the CCP will also bring back Traditional Chinese writing.

Anyways, since your system and my system are different, so you can't say who is right or not and vice versa.
I'm sure under the cultural revolution, it is in your books that everything else is wrong. But hey, people can't be narrow minded in today's age.
Its like the American's and Brits on a spelling bee competition, that is so yester years.

South Africa is a sad place
350 years of colonial rule.
80+ years of apartheid

Generations and generation of locals that has zero to little education.
The education they have is to teach them to be secondary citizens.
now the leaders they choose in are not fixing education. Without education, it is impossible to improve.
Many years ago, I was part of an organization that donated computers to rural village school.
The tears in they eyes, together with the singing and dancing and wanting to touch our hands, when they see us coming in, and then later my tears of seeing how tough the conditions there.
This is still one of the better ones which has brick and mortar classrooms. I have seen some that don't have roofs, some teach under a tree... yes, in 2022.

1995 till today, is filled with corruptions by the new leaders. South Africa will need time for its own people to fix the crimes of the leaders they chose.
It is pretty much a 1 party state at the moment and until more parties come into the equation, change won't happen.
the corrupted are invincible, because everyone has the hand in the same cookie jar and they all protect each other.
The most expensive property in Dubai is owned by a South African - with close ties to the previous president - someone who had a wedding party and jetted in foriegn citizens and landed in an airforce airport and had security escorted to Sun City (the whole resort was booked out). Many people couldn't believe it, but what can you do about it. Some "major" who arranged it took the fall, but do you really think a major can do so much for a family that is best mates with the big boss?

Your question of economic prosperity is valid, but then again, every one views things differently.
Not everyone choose economic prosperity, some choose freedom, some choose peace, some choose lifestyle (ask all those Europeans who move to a 3rd world South Africa, it doesn't makes sense, but they prefer the climate over a 1st world country service and earning less).

Self righteousness - I'm not going to PR myself to you, but hey, i'm a public figure. You can google me and you can see a lot of my activities with the "black citizens" as you call it.
I can always choose to profit off it, but I'm not in your whatsapp group.
My TT shop came to help the TT community and i'm still using resources through my relationship with vendors to help.

What ever mess South Africa is in, does not determine who I am, or what I do. In fact it is the total opposite - you really need to be in tough places to see what is the true value of being a human
Just like in China, CCP actions does not determine all Chinese are wanting war and not having more rights.
What you did wrong is to make assumptions of because SA is that, so you generalize me or anyone from SA? That is very low.

I do know many people who moved to other parts of Africa that has lower GDP. Google the needs of Human. Its not all about dollar signs.

Oh yeah , now blame it on the “change” and “difference” rather than admitting you’re wrong, clever.

And about traditional Chinese characters , the promotion of simplified Chinese characters was to help more people learn how to read and write, back then about 80% of the population don’t know how to read or write, the simplified Chinese characters helped a lot. And notice I used the word promotion not introduction? That’s right, because simplified Chinese isn’t a new thing, it’s been used throughout the history just not standardized. But you know that of course since you “know the Chinese culture”.

Btw, all languages evolve with time, you think English was the same 500 years ago?
