i just saw this from stiga. this looks very interesting. i was wondering if they would follow up the cybershape carbon. it should be clever to have a pure wood blade as a compliment to the carbon version that it too fast for many. will consider to buy one, but still im very happy with the carbon i have now. if anyone get hands of this blade, please make a reveivw and share.

What you will do with it if won't like it? ))
Stiga blade you can sell easy

What stops you from selling an SDC blade. You can judge for yourself very few buyers don’t like their SDC blades…

I mean, this is a Cybershape thread, yet unfortunately most of the posts are about well made blades from another manufacturer - any opinions on the playability of the wooden version?

They seem to be on top of their game when it comes to innovation. The other brands, especially Butterfly are just making new designs with old technology.

I don't agree with that. BF came out with a new fiber material made of wood. I haven't tried it yet but it's new technology. Stiga has only changed the shape and came up with a big marketing push. But the actual composite technology is not that new.

CNF? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nanocellulose Nothing really new but possibly patented by Butterfly for use in TT blades. https://patentscope.wipo.int/search/en/detail.jsf?docId=WO2019093191 Stiga together with the KTH came up with a new shape which might have actual advantages in game.

AndySmith;385987Ze hebben ook CWT-versies van beide cybershape-bladen aangekondigd. Magneten en gewichten.... https://www.stigasports.com/en/product/cybershape-carbon-cwt

I've also seen it pass on Instagram/Facebook. I'm not entirely on board with the usefulness of this. Ok balance but in my opinion only useful if we speak of a lightweight blade. If you have to add 3-6 of 9gr to your total weight, it may become too heavy for a few.

I think the new shape does have more surface area but I don't usually hit on those edges. So it wouldn't make much of a difference for me. I've played with the Cybershape and it didn't help me one way or another. Looking back at when Prince made the oversized tennis racket it had a much larger head and surface area so that made a big difference in size of sweet spot. But as far as in TT I don't see much of an improvement.
