Hi I have a problem with my grip and more particularly thumb. I'm a very solid player and played for many years. I've got pretty much everything set up - good footwork, good technique producing top spins using the whole body, reaction time, consistency etc.

But lately I've been a bit a bit umcomfortable with my thumb as I've found the only way for my shots to be precise and spinny, is if I slightly position and rub my thumb on the rubber.

The result of this my thumb being really sore and hurting badly. I've tried to play few sessions having my thumb a bit lower just on top of the woody part of the handle, but then my index finger which will then be higher than thumb (because it's on the rubber) will not be parallel to my thumb on the same level which distorts the precision and strength in my shots.

Especially when playing topspins I need to push the rubber with my thumb in order to produce strong topspin. What is to be done? How can I solve this? Please help.
