never thought, that Zhu Yuling is really that good. Everytime when she entered a tournement, she lost quite early, I think. But now she did really well. Nice.

So why does Liu Shiwen get second place to Paris when Zhu Yuling finishes equal with her? Is it also based on individual game scores or was there a tie-break and Liu won?

they used countback- Liu Shiwen beat Zhu Yuling 3-1, so wins the head to head between them, and so finished 2nd whilst Zhu finishes 3rd.
I have a feeling we will be seeing Zhu Y.L in Paris anyways...

btw, 2nd stage of the chinese women trial has already started on march 5th, and will end on 8th where 2 more spot to go to paris will be decided. In this stage, 16 players (3-18 ranked players from 1st stage) will be divided into 4 groups (based on the ranking from 1st stage) to play round robin to decide one winner, then the remaining 3 players of each group play round robin again to decide a 2nd group winner. These 8 players will then compete in the format of double elimination to decide top 2 players.

*Guo Yue is still injured and has been replaced by a player (Hu Limei, a chopper) who has just been promoted from the B team.

Edit - after 1st 2 days, the top 8 has been decided, the double elimination will start with Zhu Yulin vs Chen Meng, Wu Yang vs Wen Jia, Hu Limei vs Li Xiaodan, and Chang chenchen vs Ding Ning.

I got all this info from the news, hopefully someone with a better source can provide more details.

Wu yang is going to Paris! She beat zhu 3-2 in semis and hu limei 4-0 on final! Hu beat ding 3-0 in semis! I've never heard of her before though, has anyone?

WOW...WOW.. 2 chopper got 2 WTTC tickets in 2nd stage, one is Wu Yang, the other one is a young chopper (18 YEARS OLD) she replace Guo Yue played in 2nd stage and she beat Ding Ning twice (3:0 and 4:1) !! Who is she ? She's name is Hu Limei, sorry I know nothing about she...

tommy, how will the final places for the women be decided? If I remember rightly, china have a quota of 7 players for the singles event...

Yes, you are right, 7 players will play in singles event. For the remaining 3 places, the 3rd stage of women's trials will start on Apr 6, it will determined 2 places. But for the last place, now I don't know it will picked by coaches or decided by games.
