Dear all,
I had a discussion at my club, regarding the service rule. Is it a fail serve when you toss the ball and catch it again without making a serve movement?
I was under the impression that the serve starts when you have the ball on a flat hand and have the intention to toss the ball. after tossing, the serve has already started. when your toss is incorrect it is a faul serve. Catching the ball doesn't change that and is also a fail serv.
My opponent said: I did not move my paddle as a serving motion so it's not a faul serv. I said he is playing the wrong sport and should play baseball
Can somebody explain me the correct rule? thanks
