Guess its just his way to ease his pressure. 16 years old kid in the final of the toughest tt tournament, surely theres a lot of pressure on him

I agree, there are several reasons he is especially nervous/excited, he is playing one of his first major Chinese finals against a big chinese star, arguably one of the best players (maybe the best along with Zhang Jike) on the planet. Gold medal would win him and his team PLA great prestige not to mention he would get a great deal of fame and money for a gold medal (although I understand there is no direct prize money but each team handsomely rewards its players for a medal). He is also on his opponent's territory as Ma Long is from An Shan, Liaoning Province, notice the level of home support Ma Long got from the crowd. The commentary mentioned that Ma Long's grandma was rumored to be in the crowd rooting for Ma Long I think if you look at his other previous matches Fan did similar amount/style of chooing so it wasn't to annoy his opponent but to pump himself up. If nothing else I think the worst chooing in table tennis compares well with female tennis where they screech during rallies, especially if you watched US Open grand slam finals
Whilst he was chooing in the first 6 games he held himself pretty well, it was really the second half of the 7th game that got away from Fan. I am so happy for Ma Long to finally do it, it was especially important for him considering his lack of success in major titles (technically the National Games isn't one but in China it's still pretty big). Please now complete the Grand Slam Ma long!
