Wow.. I'm surprised, not because of his ability, but I honestly believed that he wasn't really interested any more due to concerns around boosting etc... JM is the worlds most consistent player.. Let's hope he can improve his power and fight the Chinese!!!!! Go JM!!!!

Alborz, I know everyone might start casting aspersions on the level of play at U.S. Table tennis , but a 13 year old has won the US nationals bronze and swept gold on all the other events :

2013 U.S. National Championships - 21 & Under Men's Singles Gold, Cadet Singles Gold, Junior Boys Singles Gold, Junior Boys Team Event Gold & Men's Singles Bronze

Ditto ttmonster.....))) the reason many of us outside the US will not be overly impressed, is for exactly the reason you stated) however, it is a great achievement by a 13yr old nonetheless.

I had an answer for you which I did not disclose earlier :p , he has managed to scale to number 8 in the Under 15 world rankings, is that impressive enough ? :D :D

I am not sure it's a consecutive title for Mizutani! ????

This is Mizutani's 6th championship, but it's not consecutive. Mizutani was beaten by Koki Niwa in 2013 final, and by Maharu Yoshimura in 2012 final.

It's difficult to read Japanese names, since each character has many ways to read.
Let me correct some of players' names.

Men's Singles 3rd place : Jin Ueda, Women's Singles 3rd place : Misako Wakamiya.
