I agree, it looks very much like a Calibra rubber.. Maybe he changed? If TTD took a picture they sure should remember what backhand rubber he used, Dan could you help us out? :)

For the past two competitions (Grand Finals & Chinese Trials 2014 for WTTC Tokyo), do you think that Xu Xin’s back-hand is much better than before?
View attachment 5508
It was obviously shown that his back-hand had improved a lot. Apart from his ability, do you know there is any other reason for that? Have you thought about his backhand rubber had been changed already? Yes, he has changed recently!! It was obviously shown that his back-hand had improved a lot. Apart from his ability, do you know there is any other reason for that? Have you thought about his backhand rubber had been changed already? Yes, he has changed recently!! As DHS official & his couch said that his rubber had been changed from Butterfly to DHS. It was combined with Japan sponge and DHS top-sheet. ...... more information & photos http://saletabletennis.com/sharing-all-table-tennis-information/xu-xin-new-dhs-backband-rubber/:cool:

I don't think he is changed his rubber to that. and this is my reason:
Intresting! But something lacks. It that link, it has been said that it is customized for Xu Xin. If it is customized for Xu Xin how they can get some of them a sell them only for 58€. DHS national Hurricanes are nearly 120$. Those rubbers seems fake to me.
Anyway, Combination of a Chinese tacky rubbers's top sheet with a fast bouncy Euro-Japan sponge will be great.

You can have a look DHS official Weibo page. http://weibo.com/p/1006061936779174/weibo
The Xu Xin backhand rubber is said by DHS official.
For the price of that, here maybe using quite different strategies of various shops. Yes, you are right. Maybe some of shops are selling fake rubbers. I think the most important is to choose reliable shops to buy it.

Has Xu Xin's backhand improved over the last few tournaments do you think? Xu Xin has been using a different backhand rubber at the recent World Tour Grand Finals and Chinese Trials 2014 for WTTC.

According to various sources Liu Guoliang has asked Xu to change his backhand rubber.

Is this some sort of tacky Chinese surface with Japanese style sponge?

We need more pics...

Aha I wish, I was really unable to look at Xu XIn's racquet. He actually always left it facing red side down. Most of the time he had his bat in his hand, was difficult. Good thinking tho! :)

yes, since it provides more spin on the ball to make more difficulties for the opponent and easy to control, but it requires more physical energy !!!

is that true that mostly of the chinese players used HURRICANE 3 blue sponge or SKYLINE 3 blue sponge? whats the advantages compared to the european ruubers? plx advise :)

It gives more potential than Tenergy. Tenergy has all the speed there for you. But it will bottom out before Hurricane. You can hit with more spin than Tenergy, but Hurricane is harder to hit with. Hurricane has a smaller margin of error though.
