I know this is a very old thread, but regarding the doming on the edges, couldn't that just be a bad cut with the scissors? Maybe they accidently pulled/loosened the rubber a bit when cutting. I mean judging by how badly cut several of them looks... Also if they dinged the edge of the blade, the edge of the rubber would dome a bit up at that spot. If it's the upward doming we're talking about? Because downwards doming is normal, when cutting with scissors, due to the slight overhang. But I guess most of you use scissors, so you know this of course.
