It is rumored that Timo Boll may join Shandong Luneng and become a teammate of Zhang Jike this year. Again, only rumored, not confirmed.

That would be massive news! Shandong are really looking to win the league this year I think.

According to Phoenix Info, women's games start on May 17 (女子赛的开赛日期暂定为5月17日) while men's games start on May 18 (男子赛的开赛日期暂定为5月18日), and men's teams will play on every Wednesday and Sunday while women's teams play on every Tuesday and Saturday (男队每周三和周日,女队每周二和周六)。

New plastic balls will be used in almost all ITTF events after July 1th. I'm wondering which ball they are going to use in CTTSL. They may use current or plastic balls for the whole season or switch the ball after 1th of July.
Very confusing

Good question! I am guessing the DHS plastic balls. Hopefully we will find out soon.

Few players won't play this year (I believe)
WLQ
ML
QYK

All taking up coaching/directorship roles.

I think if there will be no movement of players then Sichuan is dead in the water.
They either need to get in a foreign player or otherwise they should just take part in Jia A

Here is the womens list in Chinese
女子俱乐部
八一冀中能源
山东鲁能
大同平型关·金地矿业
山西大土河·华东理工
北控·燕京啤酒
金华银行
鄂尔多斯东方路桥

I'm anxious to see the confirmed line-ups as the absence of some of these players can make or break teams depending on if there are replacement players.

Well, there will be more CNT B team players moving into super league.
It will be a nice season with more youngsters.
The youngsters from last year didn't do too well, but they still improving is all I can say.

Can't wait for team roster too

A new playing system will also be implemented this season. In prior seasons, the second stage of the competition or the playoffs were in best of three. This season, single Knock Out system will be imposed. This is the first time for the competition to have such system. A new playing system will also be implemented this season. Good question! I am guessing the DHS plastic balls. Hopefully we will find out soon.

According to an announcement on April 8, 2014 by Chinese Table Tennis and Badminton Center, 2014 CTTSL will still use the old ball for the whole season. Actually, it was initially announced in 2014 CTTSL official document published on March 17th that the new plastic ball (DHS 40+ Orange/White Double Color Ball) will be used in this season. Don't know what prompted the change 20 days later.
