hello aruna, welcome to tabletennisdaily and thank you very much for answering our questions.

at which point in your career do you feel you've made most progress and under which coach (or coaches) was it?
The point in my career that I made most progress is this year under coach MARTIN ADOMEIT of GERMANY

I noticed that you are playing Most of the Time with your forehand After Service Even When The ball Comes To the Backhand. How can you Serve good that you can Attack always with forehand?

how do you do your top spin so good? i mean when zhang jike block your top spin it almost always goes out of the table
My perfect skill so far is forehand topspin and I am sure of doing all things with my forehand, well I thought it was not over then I put in more effort to run for that best point and suddenly I saw the ball on the side of jike against and I won the point,so great moment

Thanks for the amazing responses Aruna! :)

You have spoke about your coach Martin Adomeit. What is it you like about your coach Martin? Are there any tips he has told you that you have not heard from a previous coach?

Question:
Aruna, your forehand is superb! So do you think your forehand is more powerful than many current top players (it seems to me yes)?

How would you compare your forehand attacks with Wang Liqin's?

(Anyway, about the Chinese team: as I'm a Hong Konger and can often watch what Liu Guoliang and others say, I would add that Liu is a shockingly intelligent person. And, table tennis in China (not Hong Kong though) is completely institutionalized and the government is willing to invest a very huge amount of money into this sport, partly because of the need of national glory. But I think Aruna you're way more talented than most Chinese people in table tennis.) Best wishes for your career, hope you'll always stay in the top 10 in the world.

Hi Aruna. First of all thank you for joining the TTD forum! Your presence here is much appreciated. I personally want to thank you for making the World Cup more exciting with your spectacular effort making the biggest upset in the tournament.

I would like to know what mindset you had during the knock games?

And a bit misplaced question... Now you have been close to the strongest players in the sport like Ma Long and Zhang Jike, did you have the chance to see which rubbers they used?

Great to see another pro sign up for TTD.

Communicating in more than one language isn't the easiest thing to do in this world (even if it is fun !)

What is your country's amature situation like that feeds the potential to produce pro players? My country is huge and we are only now moving a little in the right direction.

Hey!
Congrats on your success!!
I wanted to know that why can't you or other players use the chinese rubbers like the DHS Hurricane 3 neo (National version). Are they not available to you or the players of other country? I have never seen others using these rubbers.
I am currently using DHS hurricane 3 neo (commercial version). It is not that great. The accuracy is not good. Mostly times I am hitting the ball outside the table.
For backhand I am using Rakza 7 soft. The biggest problem I am facing is the service receive. I am not able to control the longer serves mostly time I try to chop the ball and it goes out of the table. Could you please advice me something on that.
Thanks

If you had bothered to read the earlier posts, you would see that Aruna has already stated what equipment he uses. Also perhaps questions about individual equipment needs, and corresponding equipment reviews are silly - and best left for your individual coaches. I dont think its an appropriate use of a pro's time on this forum.

You are a JOOLA sponsered player right? When you were trying out their equipment, did you use the JOOLA eagle fast or eagle speed because I was thinking of getting one of them so could you maybe give a mini review on it? also what rubbers do you use?

thanks,
TableTennisNerd

I am playing with Joola rhyzym p rubbers and Joola roskorfp emotion blade
i serve mostly without spin as to be able to initiate attack as fast as possible but I serve with spin also depending on the opponent.
finally,my service depends mostly on which service that is giving me more winning points

I thought you were using joola maxxx, there's a picture from world cup 2014 that clearly shows your black joola maxxx.

Hi Aruna i was at the tournament and knew from the start that you were the man to watch because i had seen you at the commonwealth games.you are a great athlete but your forehand is unique it's a punch loop drive and that is why you get so much power in your shots i don't think it's the type of rubber it's your style.
I have been to many tournaments in Germany and of course the home country will cheer for their players. But this time everyone was supporting you it was so nice to see.
I saw you on Saturday and shook your hand and told you, you were the star of the show.
so good luck in the future

you make your fellow continental brothers proud,Aruna.
Good luck in preparing for Rio 2016,im sure you will make it.

I have to congratulate you,as a player, because you give people in Africa the hope and strength to play at the highest level, and people like Tony in South Africa who work with the poor and make them good table tennis players.Well done.

What words of motivation can you offer us,now that you have accomplished so much?

Adomeit Martin was just amazing,he is like a father, with just little time we met he never tried to change nothing about but tried to build me up according to my game style.
he really believed in me from the beginning to the end,he never talked a lot which makes him different.he advised me mainly on the key areas of my mistakes and I easily get his words more better than others coaches.
