very interesting to see: Xu Xin's backhand rubber has in the middle a spot from his hands, it is not that grippy there. Means Xu Xin doesn't really change his rubber that often, maybe every 3-4 weeks because if he would change it every 1 week like his forehand rubber it would be completely new. So why does Xu Xin changes his backhand rubber not that often? Because he doesn't boost his forehand rubber. When you are boosting you're rubbers they have to be 1. completely new 2. the tuning effect doesnt last that long. So they are boosting, the rubber plays perfect for about 7-10 days and they are allready feeling how the boosting effect goes away. Reason number 1 professional players are changing their rubbers that often. If they dont boost, they dont have to change them and because they are practicing every day you see the spots on their rubbers

it seems they do this on purpose, they scratch the surface of the rubber where they will put their fingers.
so the rubber could be new but with a part scratched.
if you look at wang haos pictures he does the same thing.

What is XX using for his BH? Last I heard it was a Stiga Calibra, but that's definitely not a Stiga rubber.

Its common for RPB players to "sand" the spot where the fingers goes on.

Pretty much all penhold players who use RPB a fair bit sand the bit where they put the fingers on at the back of the racket, it's just a little less slippery this way and feels nicer, like sanding the wings of the blades. I do the same thing as well for my penhold blade (I play both Cpen and Shakehand)
