no.ma long did not enter.wang hao did not retire,he was just inactive, therefore his name did not appear on november world ranking.

Okay yes that makes sense. Will be great to see Wang Hao back in action! He has probably been looking after his new child :)

The draw is quite weird. I'm currently watching the pre qualifiers and one thing that sticks out to Paul Drinkhall, after his runner up spot last weekend, has to go through pre-qualification. I'm guessing that is because of his world ranking. Netherless, being I didn't see any draws on the main post, I thought I'd link them here

Yeah, Paul will need to wait for the new world ranking before tournament seedings gets updated.
Seeding is based on latest WR - unless specified different on the propectus.

If Wang Hao were european player, he would have been looking at another 10 years of active playing. Shame there are just too many strong players in China. For me, he is the greatest penhold player ever.

And Paul Drinkhall is already out .. lost in premilitary rounds to Florent Lambient from BELGIUM .. A player I never heared about, lol .. :D
imo it's bad scheduling, he played all last week reaching the final, flew back mon stayed 1 night at home flew to Belgium for a league match and then flew to Sweden at dinnertime yesterday for his 5.30 match!
He must have been both physically and mentally exhausted.

Yep, but this is all his fault ;)

Just watched a great doubles match between Sweden's Simon Arvidsson and Hampus Nordberg and China's Wang Hao and Yan An. China just took the match by 3 sets to 2. Good to see Wang Hao back in action!

Too bad there was no live stream..
Dan, did Wang Hao play that bad or the Swedish duo played so well? :)
Why 3:2? Why not 3:0??

Good question! The Swedish crowd were showing a lot of support for the Swedish Team. It looked like Yan An and Wang Hao were a little cold and not expecting it. The Swedish pairing played very well, staying in the rallys well and clinched the second set giving them a 2-0 lead.
