This blade introduces a new fiber I've been using - Spectra.

Spectra and Dyneema (used by Tibhar) are Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene fibers. This remarkably durable material is one of the world’s strongest and lightest fibers. Performance wise, this fiber feels soft, with a moderate speed and sweet spot increase, but it's main characteristics are the lightness and the loud sound it produces on hard impact. This makes it a very user friendly and pleasant fiber to play with.

The handle one is Mexican Granadillo, a very hard and heavy wood.

It is an Outer Layer so its Off range,maybe some say Off-,but the rubbers are also part of the Setup.

It is an Outer Layer so its Off range,maybe some say Off-,but the rubbers are also part of the Setup.

This one was supposed to be a custom order, but unfortunately it turned out to be a little slower than what we were aiming for. It's loosely based on a DHS 032, but with a different ply structure, Hinoki and Western Red Cedar instead of Basswood and Luan. Built with hide glue, a classic looking blade with a classic feeling as well.

Is the handle on this one skinny or fat compared to my Mjölnir?

It's similar, but not exactly the same shape. It flares out more on the bottom, it's also thicker but slightly rounder near the wings.

Doesn’t sound too bad, If it’s still available depending on the price I want it. I can’t get to my email from home but send me a mail and let’s discuss it.

Another 5 ply with a classic composition. Normally these types of blades use Spruce on the medial layer, but I decided to use Cypress to give it a softer feel.

May I ask what cork does in a blade? Does it make the blade softer, or flex more?

Cork has virtually no stiffness of its own, it bends very easily in every direction, so it doesn't add stiffness to the blade, only indirectly by increasing the distance between the other plies. Also, because it has a lot of voids, there is some energy dissipation, and it serves as a dampening layer.

You know how I use AxC fiber, that one achieves a softer touch (compared to regular A-C) by having the Aramid from side to side, and higher stiffness by having the Carbon up to down. Well, AyC is the exact opposite of that, the Carbon is running horizontally and the Aramid vertically, achieving a harder touch with more flexibility. In terms of performance what this does is to make the blade harder and more stable on higher impact, and with an increased power ceiling. But having a harder fiber close to a relatively soft core, also changes the sound of the blade. The sudden difference in density causes a loud "Tok", which personally I don't like, but some people do! These nuances are important, and many know blades on the market exhibit them, despite looking similar to each other.

next step, naturally, would be to try the effects of mounting AxC on one side and A-c on the other....... DIAGONALLY, 😁

I don't see any benefit in using a composite diagonally when it has different fibers in each direction. Can it work? Maybe. But it creates an asymmetry that can lead to warping problems. It makes sense when the composite is just one plain fiber, or the fabric has a symmetric weave pattern within itself. I could do it with regular A-C, but not with AxC or AyC.

I already use Textreme-Carbon with 90, 160 or 200 gsm in 45 or 90°, they can sue me now if they want [emoji28].
